Alex Azar, The Secretary of U.S. Health and Human Services, will be visiting Taiwan in the coming days. This visit will strengthen the relations between the USA and Taiwan. And this new strengthened relationship and corporation will help both countries combat COVID-19 even more effectively. Alex praised the way Taiwan responded to the pandemic. He appreciates how the Taiwanese government being a free and transparent democratic society, managed to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Azar will meet with Taiwan health experts to discuss their strategies regarding COVID-19 response. The U.S. has much to learn from Taiwan, as only seven people have died in Taiwan from the coronavirus with approximately 500 confirmed cases.

Why masks work

The CDC (Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention) strongly recommends wearing masks to control the spread of the coronavirus. While many Americans object to wearing masks, experts say masks are necessary and effective. They act as a physical barrier stopping the spread of the respiratory droplets that contain the Sars-Cov-2 droplets. Sars-Cov-2 is the virus that causes COVID-19, and it mainly travels through respiratory droplets. A study showed that the number of coronavirus cases significantly reduced in a Boston hospital due to their mask-wearing policy.

Cut down on certain fats and oils

Some fat is essential in our diet, but too much of it and especially the wrong kind of fats can increase the risks of heart disease, obesity, and stroke.  The most dangerous type of fat for health are trans fats. Foods high in trans fats have proven to increase the risk of severe health conditions by almost 30 per cent.

Drink water before meals

Drinking water before meals is perfect for your health. Studies have shown that drinking a glass of water before meals increases metabolism by almost 30 per cent. The best time to drink water is 30 minutes before every meal. Studies have shown that drinking water 30 minutes before every meal increases weight loss by 44 per cent.
